The Power of Devotionals: Why Reading Your Bible Matters

Life can get busy, right? Between work, school, family, and friends, it’s easy to let our spiritual life take a backseat. But let me tell you—taking time for devotionals and reading your Bible isn’t just another task to check off your to-do list. It’s a life-giving practice that nourishes your soul, strengthens your faith, and brings you closer to God. If you’ve ever wondered why doing devotionals and reading the Bible is so important, or if you’ve struggled to stay consistent, this blog is for you. Let’s dive into how these habits can transform your life and practical tips to make them part of your daily rhythm. Why Doing Devotionals is Essential Devotionals are a time to pause and focus on God. In our fast-paced world, these quiet moments are like an oasis for the soul. Here are a few reasons why devotionals matter: They Anchor Your Day Starting or ending your day with God’s Word helps you stay grounded. It reminds you of who you are in Christ and sets the tone for your thoughts and actions. They Build a Relationship with God Just like any relationship, your connection with God grows through intentional time together. Devotionals are an opportunity to listen to Him, share your heart, and deepen your faith. They Bring Perspective Life can feel overwhelming, but devotionals help you focus on eternal truths rather than temporary problems. They remind you that God is in control, no matter what you’re facing. They Equip You for Life’s Challenges Scripture is full of wisdom, encouragement, and guidance. By immersing yourself in God’s Word, you’re better prepared to handle whatever comes your way. The Importance of Reading the Bible Think of the Bible as a love letter from God—one that’s filled with wisdom, promises, and direction for your life. Here’s why reading it regularly is so powerful: It’s God’s Voice The Bible isn’t just a historical book; it’s God’s living Word. When you read it, you’re hearing directly from Him. Hebrews 4:12 says, “For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword…” (NIV). How amazing is that? It Strengthens Your Faith Romans 10:17 reminds us, “Faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ” (NIV). The more you engage with the Bible, the more your faith grows. It Guides Your Steps Psalm 119:105 says, “Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path” (NIV). Whether you’re making big decisions or navigating daily life, God’s Word provides clarity and direction. It Transforms Your Heart As you read the Bible, the Holy Spirit works in you to shape your character, align your desires with God’s will, and help you reflect Christ in your actions. How to Make Devotionals a Daily Habit If you’re ready to start (or restart) your devotional journey, here are some practical tips: Set a Specific Time Whether it’s first thing in the morning, during lunch, or before bed, choose a time that works best for you and stick to it. Create a Dedicated Space Find a quiet spot where you can focus without distractions. It could be your favorite chair, a cozy corner, or even outside in nature. Start Small You don’t have to spend hours. Even 10-15 minutes a day can make a huge difference. The key is consistency. Use a Devotional Guide A devotional book, app, or online plan can provide structure and help you focus on specific themes or scriptures. Journal Your Thoughts Writing down your reflections, prayers, or questions can deepen your understanding and create a meaningful record of your spiritual journey. Pray for Guidance Before you start, ask God to open your heart and mind to what He wants to teach you. Prayer invites the Holy Spirit to illuminate His Word. Final Thoughts Doing devotionals and reading the Bible isn’t about being perfect or following a set formula. It’s about drawing closer to God and letting His Word shape your life. It’s a daily act of surrender and connection that fuels your faith and fills your heart with His love and peace. So, grab your Bible, find a quiet spot, and take that first step. God is waiting to meet you right where you are. Remember, it’s not about how much you read but how deeply you connect with Him. What’s your favorite way to do devotionals? Meet God's Apparel & Co.

Hello all,   This is Jeremiah, one of the founders at "God's Apparel & Co."! I am so excited to welcome everyone to our brand. Our team has worked endlessly to bring this vision to life and we are beyond thrilled to share this with the world.    A little bit about me: As you now know, my name is Jeremiah. I grew up in the church world with my dad being a pastor, every weekend and many weekdays of my childhood was spent at the church. We moved from Hawaii to Washington and before long I felt a calling to make this brand. I was in my Sophomore year of high school, it was few days after my first world wide business competition in Florida that I felt called. Before the year even ended I called up my two buddies, "The Twins" who you will meet here very soon as well, and told them about my vision. I have never seen two teenage boys so supportive of a business plan. I thank God for bringing us together and developing what we now can call "God's Apparel & Co.".    Who's God's Apparel: When I first started to introduce our brand to family and friends I was asked the question "So who is God's Apparel and why is it special". I was terrified. When we first started I wasn't even sure how to answer that question. Eventually, we found our identity and started to share it. We are a brand that selling faith based apparel with a message, a message of positivity and faith. Now, this doesn't mean you need to be a person of faith to wear our clothing, God's Apparel is for everyone to spread a positive message. However, we do want to start faith based conversations with our brand.   Maybe your purchase some apparel but aren't necessarily a person of faith. That is totally okay, we are striving to share this message of BOTH positivity and faith. For those that are looking into the world of faith, we are honored to be your first step in. We encourage everyone to share their stories of faith with us! At the core, we are all children of God that are trying to grow our faith.    Thank you for taking the time to read into our first story! We look forward to meeting and growing with all of you. Let's share our message of positivity and faith!    -Jeremiah
